These are a few pictures of my brother in law and his hunting partner Bill. Dennis shot a nice mulie and Bill got the 6x6 elk and other mule deer. Bills elk unfortunately died in the middle of the purgatory river. It took the DOW officer and his winch to winch the elk out of the river. No trucks are allowed in the area they were hunting. Next year will hopefully be my year for an elk. plans are already being made....thanks to dennis he gave me a wonderful idea. For those of you who would like to help me...please donate to the " Get Mark An Elk Foundation". All procedes will be used for hunting purposes only, Mostly out of state tag fees!!!!!

Well it snowed a little at the higher elevations here, just a few flakes here in the Springs. I took maggie for a hike today through the garden of the gods and captured a few nice pictures of Pikes Peak......I may try and head out tomorrow and head further into the mtns. The aspen are changing and with the new snow they got it should be unbelievable.............

One last set of pictures from the summit area of Pikes Peak....."Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves." - John Muir.

I MADE IT!!!!!!! My goal when i came to colorado springs was to hike pikes peak. That I must admit has been my greatest accomplishment to date......The weather held out and it was a beautiful day. The weather at the summit was in the low 30's and had gotten snow the night before but that didn't stop us. Here are a few pix for now....i am pretty tired having hiked to the summit on a total of 61/2 hours sleep in the past two days due to work, the pre hike rally, then getting up at 0300 to get there and start by 0500. It took me 8 hrs of hard hiking to get there but it was worth it.........

The elk hunting is continuing, we are in the middle of a warm spell and between that and the mosquitoes, it has been a little rough finding the elk.....but a cool spell this friday and weekend should help us out.....I took a few interesting pictures this am.....The mountain lion tracks were from where we hunt...and was seen by two other hunters yesterday while we were there. It was stalking some mule deer the other two guys were also stalking....Yikes! Also for you hunters the mule deer pictures are just a few of the typical mulies of the area.....elk pictures to follow soon..................I HOPE!
